Fat Loss Detour: A Revolutionary New Program
by Olesya Novik
Fat Loss Detour will help you tighten up, build some curves. Fat Loss Detour will help you stay lean year-round. If you have over fifty pounds of fat to shed, you may be having a tough time without the right direction. That’s right, not just any direction — but specifically, the right kind of it.
Oftentimes, even well-meaning coaches, nutritionists, and personal trainers will misdirect their clients, resulting in not just confusion and complete lack of results, but also the kind of mindset that’s almost guaranteed to backfire for years to come. This mindset alone is enough to kill any chance of accomplishing whatever goals this individual had.
As sad as it all sounds, it doesn’t have to be that way!
Just about anyone — regardless of how many times she’s tried and failed to reach her fitness goals — can make it happen! All it takes, is the right kind of motivation and direction, producing not only body transformation, but also making the individual genuinely happy to lead the fitness lifestyle by adjusting her mindset.
Of course, finding this direction isn’t always easy. The fitness industry is full of people who want nothing more than to take your money as they mislead you with an endless array of eBooks and guides that promise the world while delivering nothing but yet another blow to your already deflating self-esteem.

YES, it can be frustrating... but it doesn't have to be that way!
Having been in this industry for as long as I have, I’ve seen thousands of products such as these, and have become quite the skeptic. This is precisely why anytime I see a truly unique, no-bull fitness product hit the market, I get extremely excited over it!
Well, today is one of those days. I just finished reading over a brand new fat-loss program that, with all of its components and features, left me with my jaw on the floor! I’m absolutely excited about it, and wanted to mention it to all of you ladies before it’s even out!
This new program was constructed by Nia Shanks — that’s right, the same knowledgeable, no-nonsense coach who’s one of our fitness contributors. As soon as she’d mentioned it to me, I knew a program written by her couldn’t possibly be like any other one out there… and boy was I right!
Now, I don’t know how much I can say about it without getting into trouble with her (as like I just mentioned, the program’s not even out yet), but I can tell you that you girls will know all about the program as soon as it’s finally available to the public.
In the meantime, before I get carried away, I’m letting Nia say a few words about what inspired her to put together such a complete, one-of-a-kind program for anyone looking to get — and stay — in shape year-round, all while having fun doing it!

Nia Shanks:
As you might recall from my previous articles, I strongly believe in training for performance as the primary way to transform your body. In fact, I have seen the dark side to constantly training for fat loss and how to “look good naked” as many people say.
For years, every time I went to the gym I was concerned with working hard, burning as much fat and calories as possible, and improving the way I looked. To be blunt: I was driven by negative motivation.
Every day, I thought to myself, “I need to look better,” “my butt is too big,” “my legs are too small,” and many more self-defeating thoughts. The only reason I went to the gym was because I didn’t like how I looked!
Well, all of that eventually led me to develop eating disorders that I battled for over three years. That was the absolutely worst time of my life. Every day was filled with sadness and self-hatred because I was paralyzed by those negative thoughts.
Eventually, I discovered something that not only changed my life, but that of others’ whom I’ve trained, as well.

Want to look good? Stop thinking about it!
The Breakthrough
Instead of training for fat loss, I started training for performance. Every time I went to the gym, I was concerned about one thing and one thing only: Improving my performance.
I didn’t care how many calories I burned or how I looked. All I cared about was doing more repetitions with the same weight or increasing the weight. As a result, I was having fun again. I absolutely loved training. And guess what? I finally started losing excess fat! My body began transforming consistently!
I also did away with calorie counting and other highly restrictive diets and rules and employed the simplest but most effective nutrition principles possible.
The results were amazing. I got to the lowest percentage of body fat in my adult life, and I was spending at least half of the time working out as I used to.
Testing It on Others
My clients had similar stories and experiences, as well. They started losing fat at record pace, and enjoying their time working out. In addition, they were working out less and weren’t controlled by restrictive nutritional guidelines.
One of the greatest success stories is that of my 49-year old mother. She previously used a very popular four-week fat loss program, and lost a total of six pounds and 13 inches over four weeks.
Well, right after she completed that, she tried my new program. She lost eleven pounds in four weeks! All while her workout time was cut in half!
After trying things out on several clients and seeing the same phenomenal results, I knew it was time to share this with as many women as possible, and that is why I created my new program, the Fat Loss Detour.
Fat Loss Detour is all about throwing out the rules of traditional fat loss training and restrictive eating. With Fat Loss Detour you revolve the workouts and nutrition around your life, and not vice versa.

Get fit, stay fit -- year round, for life!
I also made it a point to make this a complete program. I created the Fat Loss Detour manual, which provides background information along with nutrition guidelines and other useful tips, a 16-week body and mind transformation program, a complete exercise index, and a warm-up component created by Mike Robertson — a genius coach and pre-habilitation expert.
I wanted women to have the best warm-up possible that also provided mobility and corrective exercises that would maximize their workout, and Mike did just that.
Finally, I also created a Motivation Guide. This is one area that is highly neglected in most programs. They simply fail to address the mind, and that is where the change must occur for someone to have long term success.
The Fat Loss Detour will be launched very soon, so keep your eyes out, ladies. This program is revolutionary in many ways, and I know each one of you will appreciate the work that went into it once you see what it’s all about!

Can’t wait, sounds wonderful
Can’t wait! Always enjoy Nia’s insight!
Kim-
At this point I am planning on releasing the program on November 10 – two weeks from today.
Viridian-
I’m glad you like my articles. I do my best to give y’all the best, no non-sense information possible.
Booty-
Glad you like it! Fat Loss Detour will be available soon.
Thanks, ladies! As always, y’all are awesome!
Can’t wait! Excited to check it out! Your articles are always so insightful.
Nia- is it going to be an ebook? I loved your fitness myth article so I’m totally pumped. I agree with your mentality of stopping the calorie counting and start working out for performance… it’s strange how much more you push yourself in the gym! Can’t wait
Sonya-
Thanks! I’m glad you like the info. ; )
Kim-
Yes. It’s going to be an eBook. I have learned over the years through my personal experiences and those of my female clients that some things just work better — not following strict eating guidelines and using postive motivation (training fo performance) instead of negative motivation (working out to “look better”).
Thanks, ladies!
It’s definitely more uplifting to work towards performance, and really appreciating what your body can DO, instead of conforming to how you want it to look. Altho I’m guilty of that many times.
Epona-
I know what you mean . . . even though I focus on training for performance, I still catch myself at times thinking about how I look and what I want to change.
BUT you can use those thoughts in a positive way. Instead of saying, for example, “I want my arms to look better”, just use those thoughts as positive motivation to increase your performance on dips, chins, benches, and rows KNOWING that by increasing your peformance, you’ll get th asethetic results you want.
That definitely helps me out. ; )
And I don’t think the mentality bad about thinking about how you want to look and what you want to change… I think it drives what you want to improve performance wise. I’ve noticed how much happier I am and how much more I look forward to going to the gym when I started saying to myself- I am going to do the best job I can possibly do today as opposed to I have to burn 500 calories on the treadmill. I feel like I’m wasting my time if I know I am lifting too lightly. I definitely think you’re onto something Nia
Thanks for this article, Nia. I love your enthusiasm for training! I feel the same way. I love myself much more when training for performance rather than for looks.
I can’t wait to hear more about this Nia! I for one could really benefit from a new approach like this, it sounds like something that would be easier to succeed at. Thanks Olesya and Nia for this great article, I will stay tuned for more!
Kim-
Thanks. I completely agree with you. Many years ago I used to spend 60+ minutes on a machine until it said I burned X number of calories. I hated every second of it . . .
Training for performance is much more motivating, and rewarding.
Jennie-
I’m glad you liked it. This is making me so happy to see so many woman benefit from training for performance. Friggin’ awesome!
CaitStrong-
I believe Olesya and I will be giving y’all more information about Fat Loss Detour next week.
Changing your mindset from focusing on losing fat to improving performance can make a HUGE difference. It has with myself and my clients.
Stay tuned, y’all!
Can’t wait for this!!
I keep getting detoured back to this page…what up with the links?
Oh, let me play devils advocate here for a minute…
I swear I am not trying to dis this article or your plan, but where are the fat people? You have skinny chicks in the pics…are you telling me that is your idea of fat? Why not post pics of the fat people who have actually made the changes?
I know for a fact that most of the girls responding to this article are NOT fat!
And sooooo….on behalf of people who truly need to lose some fat…I am talking people who jiggle when we walk, I ask, what is it about this program that will get my truly fat arse smaller that all the others can’t?
Being FAT and close to obese once myself, (I still am fat but not obese), I can tell you I will be keeping an eye on this one, may even take it for a test drive. I can also tell you that most fat people, don’t like to exercise or are afraid to. They struggle each and every day with mental and physical obstacles. Most fat people don’t read Oxygen Magazine or Muscle and Fitness to know that they can get fit , they read Good Housekeeping and People Magazine and try to find the quickest easiest way to lose 20 pounds in 10 minutes or join Jenny Craig, I know because I am one of them…So yes, I will follow this with keen curiousity.
Peace out!
Brownbikerbabe-
I’m going to answer your question in an article or video that should be posted this week.
I understand your question, and it’s a legitimate one.
We should have the answers to all the questions posted soon.
Thanks!
Nia
Brownbikerbabe-
Ohh. I see what you mean about the pics in the article.
Well, I have no clue who they are, and I never helped them personally. NO! I do not think they are fat.
My female clients have gotten excellent results with this program. For instance:
A 49 year old lost 11 pounds of fat in 4 weeks.
A busy student in professional school lost 29 pounds of fat in 3 months.
However, they aren’t willing to show “before” and “after” pictures, but they did give video testimonials.
I’ll answer your question in the upcoming video/article.
Thanks!
When will it be released Nia?!
