Tested vs non tested shows

Here is a question for you:

I have competed in tested and non tested shows in the past. I wonder why there is so much more money and support put into non tested show? Although I believe in drug free athletics and I want to support the organizations, its hard. I have to say that our IFBB affiliate here in Canada is waaaay better run then the INBF, has more support for its athetes, and puts on a great show. I have been to other natural shows as well and again I find the venue not at good and not as much attention to detail.


It makes picking an organization hard. I could go over to the non tested shows but up here in Canada they like the girls big and hard...I just can't get that way without some assitance. Yet I am not impressed by support for the natural side. Any comments on this topic?

I struggle with the same things...Here in the states the NPC shows are the bigger/more respected shows but since they dont test, I dont feel comfortable competing on stage with those women. I have only competed in tested shows and I have been more than pleased with the way the shows are run and organized. The fact remains that NPC/Untested shows are much more common around here, so it would be easier and less expensive to compete with them but at the same time I dont feel that I have the physique to compete and I am not will to do what it may take.

My goal is to earn my Natural Pro Card with the IFPA which is a natural organization that is growing in terms of size and respect. Having said that, I do know many IFPA Pros that also compete in the NPC but they tend not to place because the look is different. Then, I have a friend who competes in NPC and is now trying to LOSE size cause they dont like muscular legs anymore..I dont know if I would be willing to present a body that I dont like just for a trophy, ya know?

If you compete for fun and for your own personal growth then pick the organization the represents the physique that YOU like and that YOU want to obtain. Natural shows will never grow or improve without the support from competitors because the money just isnt there.
