I've seen people write about their competition weight and their weight in the off-season, and I'm curious about how much that differs. Since I just started in with contest prep in March, I haven't really had an "off season" but I weighed around 110 at the start, "bulked" and got to a lousy 114, and since I've been shaving off the fat.. I'm down to a lean mean 106 -- three weeks out. My trainer says after she takes the water off of me she wants me at 102 on comp day. I'm 5'4" and pretty small framed.

How does this compare with your weight on/off season? I fear if I'm at 102 I will be one of the tiniest competitors on stage! I already know I didn't gain as much muscle as I wanted, but this is all a learning experience. So.... will I look like a mini figure girl at 102?

You will probably be very tiny...depending on how much muscle you have.

My first show I was 104lbs (5'4") and very tiny, wasnt as lean as I would have liked because my trainer didnt want to sacrafice me losing any muscle. After that show I gained 15lbs (too much fat ) then for my second show I was down to 108 and just those extra 4 lbs made me look SO much better...you could see all the progress I made!!! Its clear in my pics the difference with just those few lbs. Since my last show was in June, I tried not to stray far from my comp weight...I'm hoping to come in at 105 for my show in October, same size muscle as before but a little leaner

LOL!! Sorry for the novel...but basically, how much your off season weight will vary depends on how long your off season is. There is only so much muscle you can expect to gain in a given amount of time, so there is no reason to 'bulk' like crazy. After my next show, I plan on not competing until the end of next summer AND I plan on keeping my 'building phase' clean so I can minimize fat gain this time, which will make my next prep that much easier...I plan to keep my weight no higher than 120lbs but I'll have to see what my trainer says about that

btw..I'm tired, so I hope you got something out of all my babbling

Not babbling... makes perfect sense, thank you. I am prepared to be one of of the smallest women on stage.... I just hope to look like I kinda sorta belong. I'm not sure I'll compete again after this. It might be a one-time goal, and the way to help me live healthier over all. I guess I'll have to wait until after the show to see how I feel.

Its your first show, so dont get hung up on how you compare to the other women...you acheived something amazing! You should be proud...get up on that stage with your head held high.

I think once you get out there, you'll know if its something you want to do again...I was so unsure of myself until I stepped on that stage, then I was like "I'm meant for this...I belong here"

I'm 5'5 and my first show I was TINY at 123... but remember we are built totally different... I weighed in at 134 for my second show and was about the same body fat %... I now weigh about 150... not that I should weigh it but I naturally carry a higher body fat in my lower region... I am also a size 6 at 150... at 123 I was a size 0 and at 134 i was a size 2... It really depends on how you look... I compete with women who weighed in at 130 at 5'8 and ones who weighed 150 at 5'8... really depends on your muscle mass, body structure, etc...
