A new show debuts on E tonight at 10pm - looks interesting and might be educational for those struggling with ED or who have struggled before. It's called What's Eating You? Here's the write up from the website:

Adrienne, a successful dancer, attempts to overcome her years of dysmorphia-induced anorexia after her career is jeopardized by her startling appearance, while Danni tries to suppress her bulimic tendencies which have already cost her family more than $100,000 and could ultimately cost Danni her life.

I watched this the other night. It was okay, but I feel it was a bit basic. It seemed to focus more on the parents/spouse not being able to understand the disorder vs the treatment of it. It showed that those suffering went to therapy, but again, just seems to skim the surface for me.

I really enjoyed it...Of course in a hour they cant cover everything they do in the 6wks of treatment, but I feel like it shows that ED's are never really about the food itself and how it really does effect EVERYONE in your life, not just the person struggling with the disease. Its nice to see a show that isn't so sensationalized.

I am hooked on it and I will admit (sheepishly) that it was a little triggering

Nic - I was a bit triggered by it too. I almost wanted to binge. I start feeling guilty about ever having issues with it. Fortuantely, I have been binge free/restrict free for a while an I refuse to screw that up!

I wish they would have shown more of the steps for treatment though. I agree that it was great of them to show less of the food struggles and more of how the disorder came to be because of thier individual past/

Yes! I was slightly jealous when they would show a girl binging, I wished I was doing it too...Which really pissed me off cause I 'thought' I was past it, but it definitely gave me a feeling for sure.
