Question Suggestions for easy pre-workout meal?

Buy 1 Get 1 50% Off with $20 Purchase.

I have been having a shake about an hour before my lifting that contains whey plus oats. Its fine but I am bored, especially since I have a shake immediately post workout.

I would like to hear some ideas for a quick, easy pre-workout meal with protein and carbs so I can work this into the mix when I am sick of my shakes.

Thanks everyone!

I usually have egg whites and oats...sometimes made into a pancake with some SF syrup.

This sounds good and if I have some time before I leave for the gym, this is doable, but often I hit the gym right from work, so having some portable ideas is necessary, too, since my car is my "office".

If I'm hitting the gym from work, then its usually a typical tuna or chicken and brown rice meal

The only issue with that is that I eat breaksfast around 8 am, lunch is at 11:30 or 12:00, and that lunch meal is exactly what you described (chicken, brown rice, salad), then i workout at around 3:30pm so I need to have something around 2:30. I know, I am a pain! I just dont want to repeat that same meal a few hours later, ya know?

Gosh, eating like crap would be so much easier!

Ha ha...kidding! (kind of)

Make tuna salad the night before. You don't have to heat it up and you can plop a scoop on some spinach or mixed greens with a little balsamic vinegar and you have a quick pre WO meal.... throw in a half of a baked potato or some rice and you have a good protein/carb mix.

I know how ya feel....but I DO eat the same meals all the time. I have a few staple meals and just swap them around. I'm just that lazy

x2!!

Before I started the AD I would make these 3x a week (all different variations and flavors) for me and the boyfriend to eat pre or PWO. Works like a charm!

Awesome! I will try these, thanks! And thanks for the confirmation that they taste good, too, Cherish!

Ok, just read the recipe and since I am no Martha Stewart, a few quick questions for any of you who have made these:

1) How do you grind the oats? Food processor? Do you weigh before or after grinding or does it matter?
2) will any whey protein powder work for these?
3) Can you just make 6 smaller muffins..I am assuming this does not matter, right? I have a muffin pan that has really small muffins, not these big ones I see everyone else making.
4) So we have the nutrition counts on this (calories, protein, fat, etc????)

OK, I am so excited (and I am a bit of a geek!). Thank you so much for posting that link for those muffins, LittleAsianDoll. I just made them and ate 1 and a 1/2 (they were fairly small) and they were quite good and a nice change from my usual preworkout ho-hum shake! I will be working out in an hour and I feel like I just had a little cheat meal, even though all the ingredients were clean. Thank you!

Ok, so does anyone else have some great, EASY recipes like this for someone who is a complete moron in the kitchen????? I especially love using oats, since they are a clean carb source and I cannot tolerate whole grains because of my gluten intolerance.

Also, any good websites or books for clean recipes for (I must stress this again) complete idiots in the kitchen????

Also, if anyone has the nutritional info on those muffins, I would love to have that.

Thanks, ladies! I love this place!

Per muffin??? That seems a bit off, if we are talking about the same recipe. Since there is only 1/2 cup oats, 1 scoop protein powder, that seems high. If so, I just ate 1 1/2 muffins because they seemed small....God, I hope that is not nutritional info for one muffin! i'll be at the gym for 24 hours working those babies off!
