So I've been keeping up with Pauline Norden's blog for about a month now...
I like my starchy carbs and I know that Pauline relies on veggies for hers instead. But...
Today she posted about someone who had used the Fighter Diet themselves and they. look. awesome.
So maybe holding back on the starchy carbs wouldn't be so bad :s
Does anyone have a sample diet (breakfast, lunch, dinner, plus any other extras or features) that reflect the Fighter Diet?
I only understand it so far that veggies are a main carb source. Limited understanding or what!
i am so glad that you are also intrigued! i don't know if i could give up my starches, but even cutting back would be a good start. maybe just subbing 2 of my meals with fighter diet one's.
i am amazed that it's not more widely known! ahh, maybe our increased curiosity will reap answers
I have been following her blog for a while now and I will say, she is hard core (which even she admits!). Her goal is to be "contest ready" 365 days of the year. Not an easy goal.
She has even done some recent summarizing of her Fighter Diet in some of her posts, and it does not look like something that most people (even really fit and disciplined people) could follow very easily (or even want to follow).
I was thinking about ordering it strictly out of curiosity to see what a typical days food would be but I thought I would wait until maybe someone else piped up that had actually been on it for bit.
I think I just want a sample to work from y'know. Just to tweak it to my specific needs so that I can work with some of the priciples and work from there.

I know what you mean, though she would say that it would not work - she is pretty specific about following the plan "as is". There does not seem to be much room for "creative altering", from what i can tell. Do you know anyone who ordered the book who might be willing to share some of the basics with you?
While it looks like if you follow this diet, leaning out would be a sure thing, I know for myself after reading more, I would probably want to kill myself after a week!
I feel like having no carbs from any other sources than veggies is just too hard and not necessarily the most healthy. Of course, most people need to up their veggie consumption and could probably stand to do some lower carb consumption, but NO grains, starches, fruits, berries, yogurt, etc?????? Way to strict for me! Eating clean 95% of the time is already challenging enough!
But, with that being said, Kick, let us know how you do and how much of a strain it is on the wallet and just from a convenience stand point, needing to eat all those veggies. And most importantly, let us know how you feel when you are doing it. Good luck!
In reading her blog I believe early on her veggie of choice was cabbage which isn't that bad on the wallet not here anyway. I haven't read the most current stuff whenever I start reading something I HAVE to start from the start. That is a hella lot of veggies.
