Hmmm..interesting! Just put the honey right on top and chow down? Maybe I will give that a try. Do you pair it with a whey shake?

Yep, I have a whey shake and my rice cakes (totaling 44 carbs - shake 3 carbs, honey 17 carbs and 3 rice cakes 24)

But keep in mind that I work with Olesya and she tells me what to eat based on my weight and goals.

Sometimes I have gatorade - just shake with a scoop of protein powder - this is what my trainer has prescribed. However, I'm trying to get away from the Gatorade because of the sugar, so sometimes it's a protein shake with a banana and some raisons - still get the sugar but at least it's natural.

How far ahead of time do you make these? And how do you store them to take to the gym?

Also, have a good recipe you'd like to share?

At the moment I have to say that I use it to indulge in shop-bought organic one's... the 'organic' bit making me feel marginally better about scarfing down syrup and oats!!!

Before that I'd make 'clean' ones but I can't remember the exact measures.

Mashed banana
Oats
Egg white
Cinnamon

Mix it all together with enough hot water to make it sticky-ish.
Put in a tray and bake at 180 degrees c (UK!!) for long enough to make them golden.
Before they're cool, score them into portions with a knife. Then when they're cool they break-up easily
I didn't make them in big batches so have no idea how long they'd last!!
My parents tried them too but found them too soggy-ish. But I think they're yum and fill a flapjack-shaped hole in my tummy! Soggy-ness is something I will readily put up with if it means not wasting calories on syrup!
