Hey, after reading the article on this site, another in Psychology Today and looking into it online, I am intrigued by this theory and would like to try it out. However, I do like to incorporate whey protein powder (Myofusion) into my diet and I am wondering if I would still benefit from the paleo diet with this exception. I am wanting to lose about 20 lbs right now, I have gained some weight over the last couple months. I know that portion control and calories will come into play as well, but would like to find out what other members' thoughts are about trying it out this way. Thanks a lot for your feedback.

Cait

I dont believe anyone should restrict ANY food groups to lose weight... ever. If you enjoy "non paleo foods".. grains, dairy, etc then eat them Now if these food groups bother your stomach or other digestive functions then I definitely recommend experimenting with their elimination.

Anyways cutting out food groups will never be the reason for weight loss. Why to lots of people loss weight while eating paleo? Well all the highly processed foods are "off limits".

People lose weight eating grains and dairy ALL the time... in the end its going to come back to calories in vs calories out (in simple terms).

Sorry CaitStrong- stealing your right to answer/ thank KKKRRR first, seeing as it is your thread! But I wanted to thank KKKRRR for that answer. I am about to tuck into a fat slab of bread and (see my journal) was doing the whole 'god this is BAD and I will get FAT and BLOBBY as this is all just CARBS CARBS CARBS' in my head. Then I read this...

Cait Love...my $.02...
I have some pancreatic issues that the docs can't figure out. THIS is the reason why I cannot consume grains. I basically follow paleo with some dairy (whey, greek yogurt, organic cottage cheese)...here is a GREAT resource with SO much info

I LOVE his approach to paleo/primal eating.
Love you girly!
