Protein powders -- those depend on the product in question. Some contain no fats or carbs (or very little of either one), while others contain plenty of sugar and/or fat from questionable sources.

Pay attention to the ingredient list and the nutritional information, and you should be able to decipher between the clean supplements and the not so much.
Ok that's what I thought, thank you. Bread doesn't particularly feel clean in my stomach, altho cheese is my weakness. I'm now not sure if I want to buy that book then. Was thinking of going on a bulk for winter.

Yeah I use ON mostly for my protein. Started to have BSN around the office for those days when I don't have time to even think about eating, better than starving.

Great source of carbs and fiber -- just factor it in, it's not "free" food.

This is where I get lost. What are my macros for what I am trying to accomplish? Like my 12 weeks before a comp. And what should they be if I need to build muscle and so on and so forth and when I need to lose some serious fat?

I count everything...even my green "free" veggies...I'm a little OCD with it but in a good way...keeps me focused.
