And you could always try a revenge tactic some guy suggested on T-Nation once (I have edited it for clarity and propriety 'cause they're vulgar):
"Go buy a gallon of pre-made store lemonade. Also buy some powder lemonade mix.
When you get home, dump out the pre-made (ie. empty it), and add the powder lemonade mix.
Instead of water, use [bodily fluid].
Keep it in the fridge (note: remember NOT to drink it, [idiot]). Make it extra sweet for obvious reasons.
People learn VERY quickly not to touch your food this way. [Your stolen food] is a small price to pay for the look on their face when they find out they've been drinking [bodily fluid]."
Someone else suggested lacing food with ex-lax, sitting back, and waiting for the inevitable. While I doubt I'd ever put either of these plans into action, it's fun to imagine, right? Ok, maybe the ex-lax. If someone really deserved it.
I'm bumping this sucker to rant about something I read on another fitness/bodybuilding/lifting site, directed at men...some poor guy posts, asking for help because he's had some binge episodes, and all he gets is a bunch of crap and you-know-what waving over how he should be glad for binging because it'll help make him bigger. Also, he's not getting fat, so there is no problem. This in addition to several pseudo-experts who inform him that there's no way he has a problem because he does not fit the textbook (and by that I mean their opinions based on personal experience and likely also internet resources) definition for a binge eater and is too skinny.
Ah yes, anyone can pick up a DSM-V nowadays, I suppose, and make diagnoses!
The guy obviously seems to have some sort of disordered relationship with food, and all he's getting is a bunch of garbage. For all the "experts" know, his problem runs deeper than he's let on, but he sure as heck isn't going to tell the truth now...blah!

I read stuff like that A LOT! People just arent informed at all...then they give out advice that can do more harm than good. My favorite is when people eat 'off plan' and are encouraged to do extra cardio to 'make up for it'...Way to develop a very destructive habit

I have heard girls in my nutrition classes talk about stuff like that during our experimental foods lab (which is gossip time central). A bunch of them want to be combination dietitian-personal trainers, and all they talk about is spinning and elliptical machines, and how if they eat the cookies we baked today...they'll just run it off. They are walking, skeletal stereotypes.
DSM-V...HA!!!! Such a sad waste of millions and millions of pages for diagnosis criteria
I thought it was tough being a female under 'disordered eating' realm, but can you imagine being a male? So taboo!
Ha, yes...when I was in school it was still DSM-IV...I heard they added a bajillion new disorders. I take psychology with a big grain of salt since it's definitely NOT a hard science. I was a psych major for a couple of years and just couldn't stand it in the end. When you make it so pretty much anyone can be diagnosed with something it marginalizes the people with legitimate mental disorders/conditions.
And yes...evidently ridiculously taboo (even more so than I thought) judging by the reaction this guy got. I've also encountered male anorexics, men with body dysmorphic disorder - they don't get much attention. Imagine one of those Dove commercials directed at men...it'll never happen. :(
Its track season...my fav sport.
The 8th graders think they can miss practice and still go to the meet.
I dont know how many times Ive said this that wont work...especially if you didnt tell me ahead of time...
But then they have thier parents call he AP on me and tell him I cant coach...
wtf?

Stuff like that happened in my high school all the time...Athletes are treated differently, you are a teacher/coach that is a rare exception. They arent used to someone calling them out...GOOD FOR YOU!!!!
