Hello everyone. My name is Gwen..I'm 30 yrs old...a massage therapist....a newleywed of one year....and a NOVICE OVERALL FIGURE CHAMPION! I competed in 2 shows this fall (Sept. 12 and Oct.3) placing 3rd in the first one and FIRST and OVERALL in the second. It was one of the greatest times of my life (besides my wedding of course) and I have found a new appreciation for training and healthy living.
I have always been into working out (have done numerous half-marathons and one full marathon) and always wanted to do something like this but never knew how to get there...well, now at 30yrs old I figured it out. I am also studying for my NASM CPT certification so that I may motivate others to pursue their health and fitness goals.
I am currently in my off-season and really enjoying it...except I do miss my competition body I am realistic with my goals and know what I want to accomplish over the winter and am determined to stay positive through all of this. The hardest part I'm having is figuring out my off-season diet/nutrition....just not sure how many calories I should be taking in. I vowed to take some time off from using fitday so that I could mentally relax from the competition prep....I think I will pick that back up soon. Training is GREAT! I am feeling strong and empowered and love every minute of it!!!!!
I know that all of you ladies on this site have incredible stories to share and great advice to give so I look forward to cyber-meeting all of you!
Thanks gals! I am super excited to see what kinds of changes occur through my off-season. Right now I am still wrapping my head around the fact that my bf WILL have to go up some and my weight WILL increase as well. I'm cool with it though---did my bf last week (3 weeks post comp) and I was at 13%...not bad
Will keep you all posted on training...maybe I'll start a journal...hmmmmm
