As you all know, Olicious Life was created to be completely non-intimidating and friendly, even to those who've never stepped foot in the gym before. Since we haven't had any true beginners join our site, I decided to do some investigating.
After doing lots of polls and research with these ladies, I found that many of them would never join us because they assume that they must look perfect in order to chat with us.
When asked where the assumption came from, the response was unanimous: "It's obvious by looking at the avatar photos of your members that they're all models. I am not, so I would feel uncomfortable posting there."
As much as we all realize that we're as friendly as we could get, people who just stumble upon the website don't "know" us, so they judge by the photos they see in our avatars. I would like to run an experiment and see whether removing any intimidating factor from the site will result in these newbies feeling more comfortable around us.
As a result, I ask that you girls please do me a favor, and adjust your avatars to non-intimidating photos. They can be random images that mean something to you, headshots (or fun photos of yourself where you're just hanging out, not displaying those gorgeous physiques of yours), images of your families, pets, cartoon pics, and so on.
Having said all that, we all want to be inspired by you, so please understand that you are all still more than welcome to show off your bods in either the newly created "Share Your Physique Photos" thread, or in your Journals.

Well being the fatty that I am ...to tell you the truth, I was intimidated by all you hot sexy mammas on here...but i also looked at your hot half naked bods as inspiration...like body shopping, now instead of hanging up Janet Jackson's body on my fridge I can come here and see REAL everyday people who don't have million dollar trainers, or who are celebs...you are people who workout at the gym, live normal lives, have regular jobs, kids, etc, I use you all as my motivation!!!! Because I can relate to you. I've tried all the fads, and in the end, it is quite simple, just like Forrest Gumps life...exercise and eat healthy clean unprocessed foods...WOW!! No gimmicks, no pills, no buy now and store in your basement for laundry infomercials....simple simple simple! Work hard and your body will repay you with a thank you by changing its shape from round to robust!

Your avatar isnt supposed to be pictures of yourself. Its supposed to be a cute pic of a puppy, or a cartoon you like or a hunky guy you lust for. Its supposed to be a smiley face, a saying, a quote, a picture of Albert Einstein even.
Your pics go in your profile, your journal and your picture section. There are TONS of areas on this website for you to be seen if you want to.
Its just that on the other website I remember all the women complaining about the daily naked chicks in bikinis that were put up "for inspiration" ever day. Most people didnt join because they felt intimidated.
I believe that is what Olesya is trying to avoid here.
She wants to make the website friendly to ALL women.
There are advanced sections of this website as well as beginner ones.
Nobody should feel intimidated here and too scared to ask a question. We were all beginners once.
I totally hear Olesya here. I am totally not intimidated by the avatars, but based on some of the "other" sites and stuff going on there... I NEVER want this site to allow that kind of garbage. Right of you guys to nip it now. We want people to feel welcome and not be intimidated to ask questions etc. We all have to start somewhere. There were really great people there for me when I was starting and I want to do the same for others. One will never learn if they don't ask and if they are intimidated or feel this site is way beyond where they are, they may never feel they can come in and learn and grow.
I totally appreciate this request. Olesya and her team always thinking of others.
