I know, I know, I'm full of relationship talk today, but this is what's on my mind, so why not right? Anyway, I was wondering about how I'll break up with this guy that I mentioned in the other post, and then couldn't remember a single decent breakup I have gone through.

They are all full of hurt, never fails. How do you break up with a man without making him feel bad? What do you say? "It's not you it's me" is a little transparent at this point lol.

Lol...well first things first...there is no way to break it off with someone, without pain, if the other person cared for you. Having to let go of anything you care about hurts, whether it is a paper cut or a deep gash, pain is pain.

I think the ONLY way to break it off with someone is to sit down and have a chat. I think that the other person deserves some sort of explanation for two reasons:
  1. Closure
  2. They invested time, feelings, etc into something they felt promising. They need to know why it needs to end.

And yes, that whole "its not you its me" bit sucks, but sometimes that is the case. Just let them know exactly what it is about you that cant be involved with them. lol. The main thing I find that sucks the most about a break up is you cant control how the other will take the news. That part is based totally on the type of person they are, and how they handle stressful situations.

I hope that this break-up goes smoothly for you Be honest and you can leave with a clean mind

I say be honest. Just tell them why, not the it's not you it;s me thing. Just come right out and say it. I always do.
My last x broke it off with me and all he said to me was I don't love you anymore. A week after I left he says I love you and iwll never love anyone like you and will never find anyone like you. And says he lied when he broke off with me. So I thought this loser (and he was)doesn't want me why would someone great. well 2 years later he decided to tell me it was because he was cheating and didn't want to hurt me... yeah... and he fel tthe need to come clean.

I want someone to be blunt with me therefore I give what I want to be given. I want someone to say I am not happy and either A I want to work it out or B we need to end this.
