Default Lifestyle Challenge

Ever realize everything going wrong in your life - things are never the way you want them - you lose a job - lose a friend - get hurt - don't achieve something... These are all a part of what we call life.

I am a firm believer life is 10% what happens to you and 90% how you deal with it. Sometimes I am accused of being naive or even looking through rose colored glasses... but this is my challenge to you...

1. Find 10 things each day you are blessed to have... These can be simple, but you must list them or say them out loud... For instance today mine:

  • Love of a wonderful man
  • Parents who love me and respect me
  • A good job
  • Great Friends
  • My puppy Daisy
  • Money in my account
  • Food in my belly
  • Weekends
  • Warm water for my shower
  • Sunny days

2. Set a small goal for today...

Mine: Control my temper when we are discussing a certain person I dislike.

3. Work towards a long term goal....

Mine: Long term: Financial Freedom and Debt Free
How I am working towards it: Not going to eat for lunch, not buying the new supplement online.

4. Name 5 people you are blessed to have ever known.

Mine:
  • Weezy
  • Roberto
  • Coastie
  • Papa
  • G-Ma Mace

5. Name one thing you have done for someone else that wasn't entirely selfish this week.

Mine: Went to teach kickboxing class I do not get paid to teach and did not feel like going

This is my challenge to you for the next month... You see the reality is we have so much to be grateful for and yet we (by we I mean me) complain life isn't fair... The rose colored glasses don't take away the pain but they do bring to light the good and change our focus. Change your focus - Change your life...

Great post Annie!
Life has kicked me in the teeth quite often with in the last year and I am making an effort to learn from the 'negatives' and channel them into something positive.

My small goals are to say something nice about myself and be thankful for something....DAILY!

A blooming career
Great Friends
Financial stability
Sound and healthy body and mind
A great city to explore
A cozy home filled with love
The ability to take pride in who I am

2. Set a small goal for today...

Mine: Spend 15 extra minutes with kids before bed

3. Work towards a long term goal....

Mine: Long term: Saving 20% to put down on a house
How I am working towards it: Eating at home, buying things we need and not want, getting creative for holidays and birthdays

4. Name 5 people you are blessed to have ever known.

Mine:
My husband
Gwyneth
Ellis
Sharon
Katy

5. Name one thing you have done for someone else that wasn't entirely selfish this week.

Mine: Transcribed 4 hour long memos, only to be asked to transcribe them again in a different manner than previously asked, and doing so without compensation for time.

Mine: get in 30 minutes cardio

3. Work towards a long term goal....

Mine: Planning for 8th grade promotion ceremony
How I am working towards it: Work with secretary, custodian, junior high staff to get the job done!

4. Name 5 people you are blessed to have ever known.

Mine:

5. Name one thing you have done for someone else that wasn't entirely selfish this week.

Mine: Was a strong support to my staff when one of our teachers unexpectedly died. It was a devestating loss.
