I was doing 20min LISS 3x/wk...but since I was a hot mess with my diet I dont think it mattered

In my opinion, I would like to keep off season cardio as little as possible and just throw some in for general health now and then...After prepping, I think the body benefits from a little break.

You answered the same question when someone else asked it last year :P

PERSONALLY.. I believe that you should have very little cardio when ever possible. I like to be active in my hours outside of the gym... walking in the park, going for a bike ride with friends, kayaking etc. I am 23 days out from my competition and the only "scheduled" cardio I have are 2 plyo/metabolic workouts that day my all of 15 min and one 30 min HIIT session.

If you are doing cardio in the off season I believe it should be for FUN, and only if you feel like doing some. Be active, have fun, and save scheduled cardio for a time when you ACTUALLY need it.

If your diet is in check (no matter your goal-- cutting, maintaining or building) lots of cardio should never be needed.

Believe it or not your physique really is 90% determined by diet.

Happy offseason Christine

Haha, Kristine I wasn't asking what would be best for me, I was just curious to see what the other ladies were doing I don't personally do too much, just like to see other approaches now and then!

I did forget about that thread though, so I guess it's already been discussed

I did HIIT on my bulking....funny thing..I HATE cardio..so I rarely do SS..I JUST started to incorporate it in my current comp prep...

but back to the subject

I did 20-30min HIIT (mainly on the treadmill) about 2, MAYBE 3 times a week...seemed to work for me (I felt I needed to do this much becuase I was gettin in close, if not OVER, 3000 cals/day)...so yeah...I needed to hop on every once in a while..lol

Also..when I was bulking there was a product that seemed to give me insane good gains (MuscleTech's CellTech Pro)..Im sure you have heard of it...muscletech has a billion ads in every fitness magazine that seem to be 15pages long..lol....but MuscleTech has a lot of great products for gettin your muscle on!!! lol

I did the creatine load thing and I was happy..perhaps it could work for you too How long are you bulking for?

I did very little cardio while building-- about 20 minutes three times a week. Looking back, I probably should have done less because of my body type. I have a hard time letting go of it though.... I enjoy running and feel antsy when I don't.
