Hey guys I need some advice.

I'm competing in a strongman/woman competition in 6 weeks. I really need to get stronger to be competitive in this sport and the ladies I'm competing against already have over a years worth of competition and training experience on me.

So my issue is that I need to get as strong as possible but I also really want to lose some weight. I would like to start losing weight right away but I realise this will affect my strength gains. I've been advised that I should just start "cutting" after the comp in 6 weeks but there'll likely be another one to prep for pretty soon after.

I'd like to feel better about my body, feel healthier, clothes fit better etc but I also want to do as well as possible in this sport.

Congrats on your decision! That is an awesome goal! Now, yes these ladies have some years on you. But, they faced the same fears their first competition. Everyone starts somewhere, love.

If you train hard, you will lose weight without even trying. I think you will find that by focusing on your training, and eating to nourish your muscles, you will find a good balance. Can't wait to hear about your comp!

I agree with Kellie!
Everyone starts somewhere, so be proud that you are taking this journey...cause its awesome!!!!
As long as you are eating to fuel your training, I'm sure that you will do a little bit of a recomp while prepping.
