My current training is focused toward increasing endurance for a mud run at the end of September, but my longer-term goal is to build a little more muscle so that I can place in my next bikini comp - date undecided.

With that in mind, I'm doing killer crossfit workouts three days a week and running (right now 3 miles but I need to up it to 4) three times a week. Sometimes the runs fall on the same day as the crossfit workouts, and sometimes not.

So -- do you think I'm training the right amount? Today I'm not doing crossfit and I feel lazy. I could work out at my regular gym down the road, but I'm thinking I need to take a day off.... I guess I really don't know how much rest I should take. Thoughts?

I think you should stick with the crossfit routine you are on and the running routine, if you have an off day..TAKE IT! Dont go to your other gym and train, your body needs the time to rest and recharge.
Most importantly is your diet..You are doing a lot of training, so your diet needs to be on track to gain/hold on to the muscle you do have. Make sure you are getting enough protein and complex carbs (especially with all the running!).

I agree with Nic...you have such a fast metabolic rate that you need to really listen to your body and fuel it. How far is this mud run?

Ditto above...you don't want to over train your muscles by doing much more than necessary.
I have bought into the less is more theory as far as lifting....train every body part once a week hard and that should do it.
Crossfit hits everything!!
