Have any of you had husbands who have gone through this?

I haven't, but my best friend cries almost every day because her husband seems to have lost his mind ever since he turned 40. He got himself a new car with a crazy stereo system, drives around blasting loud music, changed his style of dressing, got highlights in his hair (NO, no kidding!), and is constantly flirting with 20 year old girls even when she is around.

She spoke with him about it multiple times and he just says she's insecure and should feel free to live it up as well. I don't know what to tell her anymore and don't have any experience with this, but it really is terrible. I'd hate to think all men go through this, but was curious about your experiences.

My dad's midlife crisis was a baby. My sister is one year older than my daughter heehee.

I have had friends who experienced this with their husbands. I don't know any advice, but it happens.

I have nothing to contribute other than I hope it works out with them. Maybe they can try counseling although it doesn't sound like he'd be up for that.

Since he gave her permission then I think she should give him a taste of his own medicine. Tell her to live it up!
